Yes! We safely ship hatching eggs anywhere in the continental U.S. using specially designed, patent-pending space-grade silicone packaging to ensure they arrive in excellent condition.

We are NPIP clean and awaiting our inspection to receive our full certification. We are provisionally permitted to ship even though we have not received our inspection yet.

We’re based in Thousand Oaks, California, where we raise our birds in small, carefully managed breeding groups for optimal health, color, and temperament.

Our 2026 pre-order season opens December 1, with fulfillment beginning in March 1. Quantities are limited and fill quickly, so we recommend reserving early. We are on a first come, first serve basis.

You can reserve your hatching eggs or chicks directly through our website. Orders are filled in the order received. We’ll contact you before shipping to confirm timing and details.

We specialize in heritage and designer breeds including Black Copper Marans, Swedish Flower Hens, Ameraucanas, and our exclusive Earth Angels Olive Egger and Backcross line - all selectively bred for quality, color, and temperament.

Our flocks live in spacious, modern, and incredibly upgraded and well-appointed clean environments designed to encourage natural behaviors and overall well-being, which translates to healthier, hardier offspring.

But beyond science and structure, there’s an art to what we do. From the composition of our breeding pairs to the colors of each egg and feather, we approach poultry breeding as both a craft and a calling. Every cross, every hatch, and every selection choice reflects our deep respect for the beauty, balance, and individuality of these incredible birds. We have a passion for our birds and a deep love for them that goes far beyond mere breeding.

For biosecurity reasons, our farm is not open to the public. However, you can follow our daily life, breeding updates, and flock features on Facebook and Instagram at @littlechickenfarms and on our blog. We show daily vlogs of our birds, breeding environments, and host knowledge sessions about genetics, our breeding goals, and best practices regularly.

Yes! We offer local pickup by appointment in Thousand Oaks, as well as four locations from Monterey to San Diego for chick pick-ups. It’s a great option for nearby customers who want to skip shipping or want to order chicks instead of eggs.

All hatching egg sales are final due to their perishable nature. We do not offer refunds or replacements for poor hatch rates, but if your eggs arrive damaged, please contact us within 24 hours with photos.

We do not guarantee sexing unless specifically stated. Some of our hybrid projects produce sex-linked chicks, which will be clearly noted in the product description. All chicks are sold straight run.

We maintain multiple selective breeding lines for each breed—some focused on show-quality conformation (SOP) and others on egg color intensity or hybrid traits. Each listing notes which line you’re purchasing from.

Occasionally, yes. Availability varies by season, and started birds are typically offered in limited quantities to ensure they meet our handling and health standards.
