As we work diligently to get our inventory loaded for our December 1 pre-order date, I just wanted to take a moment to communicate a few key details on chick orders.

Our hatched chicks are only available for local pick-up here in California, and to make it easier for you, we have five locations from San Diego to Monterey where you can arrange to pick up your bebes. Here is some good-to-know information:

1. Pick-up dates are subject to change, as it will depend on hatch rates, but tentatively, we are scheduling the following pick-up dates:

- Costa Mesa - Week of March 15, Week of April 5
- Monterey - Week of March 22, Week of April 19
- San Diego - Week of April 5, Week of May 3
- San Luis Obispo - Week of March 30, April 12, and May 10
- LCF Thousand Oaks - Every Thursday from March 1 to May 31

2. We include the hatched egg shells with your order so you can track genetics accurately for your own breeding goals and for gender testing.

3. For now, only Ermines, Swedish Flowers, and BCMs are available for chick orders. We will decide on Earth Angel hatching and any limited edition breeds in January, and will update you at that time.

4. All chicks are vaccinated for Marek’s, which is included in the price of your chick. If you DO NOT wish for your chicks to be vaccinated, please indicate this in the order notes when you order.

We anticipate loading inventory over Thanksgiving weekend and will be ready to go live with pre-orders at 7am PST on December 1.

It was a tough day yesterday, but no matter how hard life gets, I’m thankful to have the most beautiful birds I could ever ask for - Not just their outer beauty, but their perfect sweet souls that remind me every day why I do this. ❤️

✨ The 70/30 Hypothesis - Where Science Meets Intention ✨

This past weekend I attended the APA National Poultry Show in Fayetteville, Arkansas - my first major show, and one that left me deeply inspired.

Seeing the best birds in the country up close, talking with the breeders behind them, and studying their type, feather, and form reminded me just how much of what we do lies in the balance between genetics and nurture.

My birds have always stood out to me - taller, fuller, broader, with more complete feathering at earlier ages - and this weekend reaffirmed why. It’s the expression of what I call the 70/30 Hypothesis:

🧬 70% of a bird’s potential is written in its DNA.
🌿 30% is unlocked through environment, feed, and care.

Genetics load the blueprint.
Environment pulls the trigger.

With the right feed, light, minerals, and calm, we don’t just raise chickens — we reveal masterpieces.
