Earth Angels - Multi Gen Olives and Backcross
Pre-Orders Open December 1
Introducing Earth Angels, a special-edition collection of our finest multi-generational Olive Eggers and Backcross Olive Eggers. These extraordinary birds have been carefully crafted across generations to produce the richest, most earth-toned eggs imaginable — spanning deep mossy greens, muted olives, sage, speckled chocolate browns, and everything in between. No two baskets will ever be the same, and that is the beauty of Earth Angels.
This project represents the heart of our vision: to create birds that are as breathtaking in their plumage as they are in their egg baskets. From snowy whites to wheaten golds, from shimmering splash and jet black to the soft salmon of Legbar expressions — with or without crests — every hatch is a kaleidoscope of beauty and vigor.
The Earth Angels Gene Pool
This limited collection draws from some of the most exquisite heritage breeds, blended over years of work to create unrivaled Olive Egger diversity:
Ameraucana (White, Wheaten, and Blue/Black/Splash)
Marans (Wheaten, Splash, Cuckoo, and Black Copper)
Crested Cream Legbar
Silverudd’s Blue
Welsummer
Bielefelder
Through thoughtful backcrossing and multi-gen pairings, we capture the very best traits of each:
The depth of Marans' deep brown,
The clarity of Ameraucana blues,
The unique green layers of Silverudds,
The patterned charm of Legbar and Welsummer,
The utility and robustness of Bielefelder
The result: a living mosaic of earth’s most natural tones, expressed in both feather and shell— Some with sex link traits that are sexable at hatch.
You will receive eggs that have been crossed forward and back that will result in offspring laying either darker or lighter than her mother, but ultimately our aim is to result in a similar looking basket to what you set. Each order will also receive our limited edition, seasonal F1 offering. This year it will be a Wheaten Olive Egger and a Marsbar (Wheaten Maran/Legbar cross).
What Sets Earth Angels Apart
Special Edition, Limited Offering – Only available in small numbers each season.
Unparalleled Egg Diversity – Expect shades from soft sage to mossy olive to rich cocoa brown many with speckles and unique patterns
Plumage Variety – White, Wheaten, Splash, Black, Salmon-Legbar, and more — crested and non-crested.
Multi-Generational Depth – F1 through Fn, plus Backcross Olive Eggers for consistency in color and type.
Heritage Breed Backbone – Sourced from show-quality Ameraucanas, champion Marans, rare Silverudds, and classic European utility breeds.
Beauty + Vigor – Birds are selected not only for their visual appeal but also for health, fertility, and temperament.
- Temperament is paramount. We do not compromise the docility of our birds just for their beauty. We see these as one and the same. Our birds are loving, affectionate, and for the most part, even the roosters live peacefully together. We do not compromise on this genetic necessity.
Raised Organically on NPIP-Clean Ground – Our focus is always on vitality and sustainability.
All orders receive two breeder's choice extras with each order. This year, we will be including either two Wheaten Marans from showing-winning stock OR two Black Copper Marans eggs - one each from our SOP and Dark Lines. If you prefer a different breed, please notate this in your ORDER NOTES and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
A few of our olive lines were chosen from the following original breeders, to whom we thank for their tireless work to perfect this beautiful creation:
- Burberry Backcross
- Flockinhenhaus
- Freshly Picked Chicks
- Open Gate Farms
✨ Earth Angels are more than just Olive Eggers. They are a celebration of heritage, of color, of diversity, and of the natural beauty of the earth. Whether you seek to enrich your egg basket with the most varied tones possible or to build your own breeding program with truly unique foundations, this limited collection is unmatched.
