SOLD -- Dark Line BCM - Son of Belatrix - Hatched 12.14.2025

This son of Belatrix and Major is available for purchase. He came from the egg circled, and has an outstanding pedigree. His father was bred by David Uribe and mother from HB Marans. He will pass on exceptional dark egg genetics, but he has a number of SOP faults:
 
He has a cotillion point in his comb. Sometimes called a devil comb, it is a fault. While minor, offspring should be culled for if you are striving for SOP. 
He has an enormous amount of leakage. Oddly enough, his boys will probably be better melanized. Belatrix has a lot of copper leakage, which Major contains beautifully in their daughters, but their sons are absolutely riddled with it. I find that the opposite will be true in their offspring. You may end up with a nice balance of copper in the boys, but potentially over melanized girls
His tail appears high here, but it will likely settle over time. It is still something to keep an eye on as you consider your goals for this gentleman.
 
His temperament is TBD. I would put him on the slightly more nervous side, but he is in a pen with other, more dominant cockerels. so that is to be expected. There is zero aggression in my Marans flocks, so I believe he will continue the legacy of a good flock leader. 
 
He is pick-up only in Thousand Oaks, CA or through qualified livestock carrier at the buyer's expense, with no more than an 8 hour total journey. He is vaccinated for Marek's and Coccidiosis. We are NPIP/AI clean and certified. (NPIP 540-CA)
