Swedish Flower Hens - Chicks
Pre-Orders Open December 1
Local Pick-Up Only (Monterey to San Diego, CA)
Bring the vibrant beauty of Sweden’s national landrace to your flock with our Swedish Flower Hen chicks, sourced from carefully selected breeding lines. These birds represent the very best of the breed, blending health, genetic diversity, and strikingly unique plumage patterns. All chicks are sold straight run with a 50/50 chance of males v. females, and will include their hatched egg shells for your reference.
Our program emphasizes non-crested Swedish Flower Hens for a clean, elegant head profile, while maintaining the full range of exquisite colors that make this breed so extraordinary. We currently maintain multiple color projects including:
Black-based Snöleopard
Blue-based Snöleopard
Black-based Mille Fleur
Blue-based Mille Fleur
Black-based Mottled
Red Pyle
Splash
Each bird has been hand-selected for conformation, vigor, fertility, and temperament, ensuring that our lines carry both the authentic landrace beauty and the practical utility this breed is known for.
What Sets Our Birds Apart
Direct lineage from respected Swedish Flower Hen breeders
True to type, non-crested stock for a balanced, clean head shape and traditional look
Extraordinary variety of colors and patterns within our breeding groups — from snöleopards to mille fleurs — making each hatch a breathtaking surprise
Temperament as a priority — our Swedish Flowers are calm, curious, and affectionate, making them excellent family and homestead birds. Both of our clan sires are quite literally lap chickens who live to cuddle and bonded together as a pair that look over their flock of ladies equally. They are extraordinary birds that are not only gorgeous to look at but an absolute joy to be around. They are our founder's personal favorites.
Co-op breeding system ensures genetic health, fertility, and long-term vitality of our flock. This method also reflects the true landrace spirit of the breed. By maintaining multiple males within the same pen, we aim to encourage the natural genetic diversity that has made the SFH so hardy and resilient for centuries. The result is a flock that thrives with vigor, fertility, and the colorful variety this breed is prized for.
Raised on an NPIP-clean, organic farm, with a focus on robust health and longevity.
